Hello!  So glad I found this website!  I didn't graduate from Haworth , my family was transferred to Cedar Rapids the day after our Sophomore year ended.  Saddest move I ever made!  I had great friends in Kokomo and the 3 of us Roeber kids love to talk about our time in Kokomo!   I'm hoping the site is still up and active, and each of you are doing well!   Carolyn

This website is awesome, I have never been to a class reunion.   I moved to Florida and was an administrative assistant for 20 years.  I retired and moved back to Kokomo.  So far so good.

So sorry to hear about Al Sullivan.  I would love to hear from you all---remember all those choir trips with David the director?  Anybody remember Tommy the musical?  Then there were those plays I used to be in...those were certainly the days!  I have two in college out here in Virginia (one at Virginia Tech and one at Roanoke College).  I have kept in touch with Jane Marshall...will give you her email.

Yeah, nothing like wondering if your friend is going to end her first motorcycle ride by dropping into a sobbing pile of leather and snot and muttering, "WHAT was I thinking???"  But, no...Susan climbed off of Tom's beautiful bike after that long trip from TN to IN and still managed to have a smile on her face!  Frozen onto her face may be more accurate.  Even a summer rain is cold when you're flying low.

Tom Lowdermilk was a great pal to transport Susan to Jane's house in Tipton so that we could all get together to commiserate after our ziplining accident a few weeks prior.  Yes, Susan (Beatty) O'Banion, Jane (Schroeder) Fague, and I all took our 54-year old butts to Sevierville, TN for some serious ziplining through the Smokies.  And we all 3 wound up in the ER.  Go figure.

LOl !!!.............and again thanks for bring Susan up to see me and the great afternoon at your moms!!! ..... God bless her.......Virginia, Susan and i will be talkin' bout that afternoon for a longgggg time !!!!

6:40 am EDT July 11th 09 I picked up childhood friend "Pillion for the Day" Susan "Beatty" O'Banion for her first motorcycle ride.  568 miles and 11 hours 20 minutes later I dropped her off at Jane "Schroeder" Fague's Zoo (this place has bookoo dead animals stuffed hanging on the walls including a 8'  bear that her husband Scott shot in Alaska). What a trooper or maybe a nut case Susan was, never a word as we road the back roads from Knoxville TN to Hobbs IN. Thinking back maybe she was terrified. When I dragged the foot pegs thru one of hundreds of switch back turns she did let out a yelp.  Susan became a member of the Wet 70 Club (70 mph in a toad chok'n rain storm) again never a word, the girlz got kahunnas. Sunday Susan, Jane, and Virginia "Root" Boshears stopped by my mom's crib for a visit had a great time.  Oh yeah Susan also climbed on the back of The Asphalt Angel for the ride back to Knoxville the following Wednesday morning for a high speed interstate ride. Little does she know but that day she was on 2 wheels a 90+ mph again she did fantastic although I hear she is recovering at Chestnut Lodge making pot holders and finger paintings.

Hi everyone! Had such a great time at the reunion.  It was alot of  work but I wish it was coming up soon again.  We'd love all the help anyone wants to offer.  That way we'd have alot of fresh ideas.  Hated to hear about Al Sullivan.  We had so many great laughs preparing for the reunion.  Sure will miss him.

Steve Lawless called me last night to inform me of Al's passing. I was stunned! Al was such an intelligent, generous, fun and Very special guy. I pray his family is recovering. I already think of him every time I wear my lt. blue Haworth sweatshirt that he so generously donated to the reunion door prizes. Al also gave to keep this website running for a few years. We should all be thankful for knowing such a great guy. As chair for the memorial committee I would like to be informed of these events in a more timely manner. You could contact me thru this website or at Minivickie@yahoo.com I would like to know what happened to Al.

I just learned about Al Sullivan...It is a shock and very saddening. For those who attended the reunion...not only did Al share so much of himself by helping and sharing fellowship...but we could all tell how much Al was enjoying his time with his classmates.  My prayers for his family...and may the memories last a lifetime.

2 great guys from the Maple Crest-Haworth era have passed on.  Both Al Sullivan and Kris L. Nick were real nice people and i have alot of great memories of them.  I last saw Kris a few years back at the Steel Inn tending bar and we had alot of good laughs from the old days.  You never know when you are spending the last times on this earth with somebody, so don't let those moments pass you by if you get a chance.....see a friend!

I was also shocked when I heard about Al.  He was so much fun at our reunion!  I will keep his family in my prayers.  It's such a shock to re-unite with someone from so long ago in your life, and then suddenly they are gone...goes to show you we aren't immortal like we thought we were in high school.  For this reason, I am more thankful for the friends I have.  I LOVE staying connected with this website and hope ALL of you check in once in a while!

Al was such a nice guy. It was great to see him at the reunion. I remember him as we grew up and could count on him for a laugh. My prayers to him and his family, we'll miss him. I'm glad we have this forum to share with each other.

Denny Willis stopped by my office today to tell me the sad news about Al Sullivan.  There isn't really much a person can say when something like this happens, other than to share how they felt.  For me, Al was such a lovable goof, who enriched so many lives, it's hard to imagine him gone.

Rest in Peace, Al.  You will be sorely missed.

I don't think people realize how many hours it takes searching for lost classmates or the effort it takes to put an event like this together. I will be happy to help you in any way with the next reunion! Thank you so much for all of your time! I had a wonderful time at Scotty's and like Cindy (Silvey) Holliday because of this reunion I have reconnected not only with her but Elaine (Schrader) Lindemann, Theresa Cooper, Brenda Hoel, & Jan & Dave. As far as I'm concerned, the relationships that we create while we are on this earth is what life is all about! A quick story to share about someone on the "where are you" list...In 1975, I was a US Marine standing on a pier in Cannes, in the south of France...like thousands of other Marines and Sailors stationed on ships in the US Mediterranean...waiting for shuttle boats to return is to our ships after shore liberty...a guy and myself back into one another accidentally...I turned around in mutual shock and surprise, to find "sailor" Tom Lowdermilk standing there. It was a class reunion in and of itself...I know he found his way back to the states...but now we will see if he can find his way to this reunion...Its truly quite a small world...

I didn't go to you're school. I however feel Tom Lowdermilk is the real deal. His heart proceeds him in everything he does. You all can be pleased to know one of your classmates from the class of '73 has become a good friend of an Alaskan and a great man (he lives in the east somewhere).

This website is great. It is also nice to see some many of us using it was an easy way to stay connected! I would be happy to assist with the expense to keep the website up, please contact me with who to send some money to. I've seen a few of our classmates since the reunion and each expressed their regrets at not being able to attend. Reach out to them and remind them about the website. Let's do have some informal get-togethers!

A lot of people said they hadn't checked out the pictures page because they didn't realize that you have to click on the images to see more. There are 38 pictures posted right now - mostly thanks to Rich Fields (thanks Rich!) so check them out. It's easy to post so if any of you have some pix from the weekend, please do so. It really was fun seeing so many of you - and I loved the idea that was kicked around about having some informal get-togethers before our next reunion. Marianne

What a wonderful time all weekend.  Friday night was a blast, drinking, laughing, visiting, singing, dancing, just like old times.  Saturday decorating was a good time and the trip down memory lane at the high school was great.  The reunion Saturday night at the Grotto was the best ever.  I came into Haworth in January of 1970 so I didn't go to middle school here and I was a really quiet kid in school.  If you spoke to me I would withdraw into myself.  Time changes things, it was so nice to connect with  everyone finally.

Hi to all,
Thanks for keeping me in touch with the Haworth class of '73 since I  moved to Fort Wayne my junior year.  The website is wonderful!
I continue to live in Littleton, CO (30 years in Colorado) and work at Coronado Elementary School as the instructional coach. My oldest son, Zach, graduated from college this spring and is working in the business world.  My other son, Kaleb, is still in college.  My husband, Garth, is the business teacher at Columbine High School and an online instructor with University of Phoenix.
Hope all of you have a marvelous time this weekend!  I'd love to hear from you!

I am living in Troy, MI and still work for GM at the Ren Cen in Detroit in Information Security.  In September I will have 31 years.  I am still single but have traveled many exciting places over the years

I have lots of memories of my Senior year at Haworth and of all of you.

... Greeting to you all! For the past 35 years I've been wide awake in a dream. My life continues to be characterized as a wild rollercoaster ride in Life's grand amusement park. After many many somewhat memorable days in those hallowed halls of Haworth and thanks to lots of student loans along with several grants , I attended classes at five different colleges.  During the winter of 89' as a full time student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks,  I was once again placed on academic probation . Soon afterward  I gave up on any ideas of graduating with a diploma, deciding instead to forego higher education and dropped out for the last time. For my continued existence I floundered as a gamefully  unemployed hippie unable to hold a job. In 99' I was hired as a solid waste operator at the transfer station in Lancaster , New Hampshire . I've worked there for nine long years and look forward to retirement.  I have a dog, a wonderful wife, and a phone if you  decide to call (802) 892-5941. For the few classmates I still stay in contact with you will always remain close to my heart and omnipresent in my thoughts. The class of 73' legacy will forever hold a distinctive place in history to be proud of. We will always be remembered as the first Huskies to go through all four years at Haworth High. Congratulations,we have arrived and will always remain bold as love.....

If there is a program available with class info I would be willing to purchase a copy.  I have not heard from any of you for a very long time. I am wondering about Lynn, Leslie, Sandy, Barb, Joni, Pam to name just a few. If anyone has info on them please let me know. I was shocked and sad to see so many classmates that had passed away since our 25th. The very best to all of you.

Hello Everyone!  Certainly, time has flown by.   I look forward to seeing you all!  Having not been able to attend past re-unions, I am excited to attend this one. (Reminds me of the movie "Peggy Sue Got Married."!) Jane Schroeder, Virginia Root, and I will once again be walking Haworth hallways! I hope everyone will come!  Steve Lawless, and Richard Lewis--make sure you and my husband David (Hamilton) O'Banion. won't be having too much fun!  We am coming from Oak Ridge, TN, - and are excited to re-live some great times with everyone! Go Huskies!

Hello fellow Huskies ! I'm surprised and somewhat ashamed of myself, I'm sitting here with my Grandson at 1:00 am while he is reading all about Shih tzus to me and I'm gabbing to you.  I was curious and wanted to look all of you up.  I'm so glad that I did.  Going threw the list on the guest book and reading all the names I had forgotten. ( yes, I said it) made me realize how much I want to bring back the old memories. And: by the way my grandson is visting from Kentucky so it's ok if he stays up all night if he wants to before he leaves tommrow to go back.  Tears my heart out.
Excelent job to all who put this together. KOODLES TO YOU 11. I'll see everyone at the reunion.
Sincerely
Theresa Hiatt

I'm in southernCalifornia and unable to get to the reunion.  I would love to come, but the vacation time has run out.  I've lived in 5 states and landed here for  the last 7 years.  Keep me posted.

I appreciate the hard work and wish I could be there.

I'd like to be on the mailing list for future. Will have to see if I can make this one.  Last one I heard of was passed along about 10 years ago, or was it 15 ;-) but couldn't make that one.  It would be interesting to see how things have changed.
